Davisville Village is a densely populated midtown neighbourhood around Yonge Street and Davisville Avenue, mixing older houses with apartment and condominium towers and drawing many working professionals.
It centres on the Yonge-Davisville intersection between St. Clair and Eglinton avenues, next to Chaplin Estates, Leaside, Moore Park and Lytton Park.
The area was founded in 1840 by John Davis, whose Davisville Pottery Company was for years the largest local employer; residential growth followed after the Davis family sold land to the Dovercourt Development Company in 1911.
It is a busy, transit-oriented midtown community with an unusually high share of residents commuting by public transit.
The housing mix ranges from 1920s and 30s single-family homes to high-rise apartment and condominium buildings added from the 1970s onward.
Shops and restaurants line Yonge Street through the neighbourhood, with additional retail toward Bayview Avenue.
June Rowlands (Davisville) Park offers local green space, and the Kay Gardner Beltline Trail crosses the area for walking and cycling.
The Toronto District School Board serves the area, including Maurice Cody Junior Public School.
Davisville station on Line 1 Yonge-University anchors transit, with bus routes on Eglinton and Bayview avenues; the TTC's Davisville subway yard is also here.
May suit professionals and downsizers wanting walkable condo-and-house living with direct subway access downtown.

Budget for Ontario's land transfer tax on top of the price; purchases in the City of Toronto also pay a separate municipal land transfer tax. First-time buyers may qualify for refunds on both.

Generally not right now. Since January 1, 2023, the federal Prohibition on the Purchase of Residential Property by Non-Canadians Act has barred most non-Canadians from buying residential property, with exceptions such as permanent residents and some work-permit holders. The ban has been extended before, so confirm its current status and get legal advice on your situation.
