Location & boundaries

It is bounded by Finch Avenue East to the north, Bayview Avenue to the west, Leslie Street to the east and Highway 401 to the south, next to Willowdale and Henry Farm.

History

The community was planned in 1954 by developers led by Farlinger Development, with town planner Eugenio Faludi laying out its curvilinear streets on land once used to train racehorses; the Bayview Village Association formed in 1956.

Lifestyle

The neighbourhood is quiet and green, with roughly a quarter of its land in parks and mature tree-lined streets, alongside newer condominium living near Sheppard Avenue.

Buying a home in Bayview Village

In Ontario, most resale house offers go firm quickly in competitive markets, so line up financing and consider a pre-offer inspection. Your lawyer will search title, check for work orders and permits, and confirm the property's zoning.

Budget for Ontario's land transfer tax on top of the price; purchases in the City of Toronto also pay a separate municipal land transfer tax. First-time buyers may qualify for refunds on both.
