Edgemont Village is a pedestrian-oriented shopping village surrounded by a leafy residential neighbourhood in northwest North Vancouver.
In the District of North Vancouver at the base of Grouse Mountain near the Capilano River, it centres on the intersection of Edgemont Boulevard and Highland Boulevard.
The village's first businesses appeared in 1947 during the post-war building boom, and it grew into a local commercial centre once known as the Capilano Highlands Shopping Centre.
It has a walkable village atmosphere and is strongly family-oriented, functioning as a gathering place for the surrounding west-side neighbourhoods.
Housing is mostly detached single-family homes, with some townhouses and low-rise units near the village core.
More than 100 shops, restaurants and services line Edgemont Boulevard's compact, pedestrian-friendly core.
Murdo Frazer Park offers trails, a duck pond, tennis courts, a playground and a pitch-and-putt course, and Capilano River Regional Park and Grouse Mountain are close by.
Served by the North Vancouver School District (SD44), with Highlands and Cleveland elementary schools and Handsworth Secondary in the catchment.
Bus service connects the village down the Capilano and Edgemont corridors toward the Lonsdale area.
The North Vancouver District Public Library's Capilano branch and Highlands United Church are located in the village.
May suit families wanting a walkable village with detached homes and nearby schools.

Generally not right now. Since January 1, 2023, the federal Prohibition on the Purchase of Residential Property by Non-Canadians Act has barred most non-Canadians from buying residential property, with exceptions such as permanent residents and some work-permit holders. The ban has been extended before, so confirm its current status and get legal advice on your situation.
