Rocky Ridge is an established single-family suburb on Calgary's far northwest edge, often paired with neighbouring Royal Oak. It sits on elevated terrain with views toward the mountains.
It lies in the far northwest, bounded by Country Hills Boulevard to the north, Rocky Ridge Road to the east, Crowchild Trail to the south and Twelve Mile Coulee Road to the west, next to Royal Oak and Tuscany and bordering Rocky View County.
The land was annexed to Calgary in 1989 and the community was established in 1998.
It is a quiet, family-oriented suburb near the western edge of the city with quick access to the mountains.
Housing is almost entirely single-family detached homes.
The Rocky Ridge community centre serves residents, and the large Shane Homes YMCA at Rocky Ridge, an aquatic and recreation facility, is nearby, with pathways connecting to the surrounding coulees.
Major road access is via Crowchild Trail and Stoney Trail, and the Tuscany CTrain station on the Red Line is nearby.
It may suit families wanting newer detached homes near the mountains with recreation amenities.

Generally not right now. Since January 1, 2023, the federal Prohibition on the Purchase of Residential Property by Non-Canadians Act has barred most non-Canadians from buying residential property, with exceptions such as permanent residents and some work-permit holders. The ban has been extended before, so confirm its current status and get legal advice on your situation.
