Arbour Lake is a northwest Calgary community built around a private man-made lake, the only lake community in that quadrant of the city.
It sits in northwest Calgary, bounded by Country Hills Boulevard to the north, Crowchild Trail to the south, Nose Hill Drive to the east and Stoney Trail to the west. Neighbouring communities include Royal Oak, Citadel, Hawkwood, Ranchlands, Tuscany, Scenic Acres and Silver Springs.
The community was established in 1992 and named after Arbor Lake in Newport Beach, California.
It is a family-oriented suburb whose residents have private lake access for swimming, boating and winter skating.
Housing is predominantly single-family detached homes, with some condominiums and apartments.
Crowfoot Crossing, a large shopping centre immediately north, provides grocery, big-box retail, restaurants and services.
The community's central lake supports seasonal swimming, fishing and boating in summer and skating in winter, complemented by surrounding parks and pathways.
Schools include Arbour Lake School (grades 5-9) and Robert Thirsk High School under the Calgary Board of Education, along with St. Ambrose School (K-9) in the Calgary Catholic School District.
The Crowfoot CTrain station, the northwest terminus of the Red Line, sits at the community's edge by Crowfoot Crossing. Crowchild Trail, Country Hills Boulevard and Stoney Trail provide road access.
May suit families wanting lake access and a detached home near the CTrain and major shopping.

Generally not right now. Since January 1, 2023, the federal Prohibition on the Purchase of Residential Property by Non-Canadians Act has barred most non-Canadians from buying residential property, with exceptions such as permanent residents and some work-permit holders. The ban has been extended before, so confirm its current status and get legal advice on your situation.
