Location & boundaries
In central-south Surrey, covering roughly 15 square kilometres, south of the City Centre/Whalley area and west of Cloverdale and Sullivan Station.
History
Named for settler Elias John Newton, whose homestead along what is now 72 Avenue dates to around 1890, the area developed as both a residential and industrial hub.

Home to one of the region's largest South Asian communities, Newton hosts one of the largest Vaisakhi parades outside India, drawing hundreds of thousands of people each year.
