Seton is a master-planned mixed-use community in southeast Calgary built around a regional hospital and a large urban district of shops and services. It combines homes with major retail, health care and entertainment.
It sits in the southeast near the city's southern edge, south of Auburn Bay and east of Cranston, bounded by Deerfoot Trail to the west and Seton Boulevard to the north.
The South Health Campus hospital opened in 2011 and the surrounding residential neighbourhood was established from around 2018, with the urban district built out over the following years.
It is a newer, amenity-rich community where residents can reach shopping, health care and recreation without leaving the district.
Housing is a mix of townhomes, apartment condominiums and single-family homes.
The Seton urban district is a large retail and services hub with grocery, big-box stores, restaurants and a Cineplex cinema.
Major road access is via Deerfoot Trail and Stoney Trail, and the community is planned to be served by the future Green Line LRT.
The area is home to the South Health Campus hospital, the large Brookfield Residential YMCA at Seton, a Calgary Public Library branch and Joane Cardinal-Schubert High School.
It may suit buyers wanting a new community with hospital, recreation and shopping within walking distance.

Generally not right now. Since January 1, 2023, the federal Prohibition on the Purchase of Residential Property by Non-Canadians Act has barred most non-Canadians from buying residential property, with exceptions such as permanent residents and some work-permit holders. The ban has been extended before, so confirm its current status and get legal advice on your situation.
