Long before the roads on the West side of Bowen Island were paved, someone stood on this bluff and decided this was where the house belonged. Not because it was waterfront. Because it was THIS waterfront.

In the summer at sunset, the sun lines itself up almost perfectly centred with the living room window. After dark, all that´s left is a sky full of stars. Humpbacks and Orcas pass through often enough that a notebook hangs on the wall to record them.

Its pages are full. Oak floors, triple-glazed skylights, a catalytic wood stove, walk-in pantry and workshop create a home built for decades of life by the ocean. A private path winds down to a flat outcropping at the shore with access to deep water and a private mooring.

It's easy to imagine doing updates. It's much harder to find another piece of shoreline like this. The house has been waiting here for nearly 40 years, while logbooks get filled after another with moments most people only hope to witness once.

Now, for the first time, it waits for someone else.
